Inverted Spotlight Coloring with Hey Pumpkin

Today I'm sharing this pumpkin card using the Pawsome Stamps Hey Pumpkin stamp set. I decided to to do spotlight coloring but mixed that technique up a bit by also inverting it. So I have a colored background and white pumpkins outside of the circle with a colored pumpkins and a white background inside the circle. This was absolutely fun to create and bit a challenging! Take a look at the video below to see exactly how I created this one!

I hope you enjoyed this fun technique!

Don't forget to check out the Colorway chart I have. I try to do these for most cards with fun color combinations!

Heffy Doodle July Challenge Adventure Awaits | Cute Jurassic Park Inspired Slimline card

Hey everyone! Longtime no see.... 😃

It's been a bit since I've done a post here. I took a break from cardmaking, design teams for the holidays and then while I moved and renovated my craftroom. I've made a few cards recently, you can find them on my Instagram feed. I'm much more active there.

Today I'm sharing a no line coloring card I made using Heffy Doodle products! I love these little dino's and the cute bears. These dies and stamps are fun a couple of different sets, you can find them listed below. I thought it would be fun to mix it up and create a Jurassic Park inspired card. This one may have to go to one of my Nieces who has a love for Dino movies like me.

I made this slimline card for the Heffy Doodle July Challenge Adventure Ahead .

I used masking tape to create the line in the background. Distress Oxide inks I used are Salty Ocean and Twisted Citron. Those inks are blended on Simon Says Stamp Fog cardstock. I made this a slimline card, it measure 8.5'' X 3.5'' .  I stamp all the images in Antique Linen Distress ink before practicing the no line coloring technique.

That is all I have today! Thanks for joining me.

The Pet Project | Art Impressions Challenge with NEW Funny Farm Sets

New critter set from Art Impressions? Yes please! We are in the second week of the Pet Project challenge. Did you see the Koalas? Love them, but I'm so glad I got to play with the Feline Set. All the cat images are hilarious. Plus, how cool is it that these stamp sets have dies included! I've grown to love fussy cutting to get the look I want but dies do make things so much faster.

I ran with the royal theme giving this card a purple and red color scheme. And why not a white cat? Though honestly every cat can have a certain "attitude" about them. I added in some red shiny gems and used a Rectangle Double Stitch die on a old pattern paper with diamond hexagons. Is adding corrugated cardboard to on trend with our feline masters? I think not. It had to be done.

Copic Coloring on Kraft Cardstock | Fall Feast Mode

Hey everyone! I have Art Impressions design team card to share today. November is just around the corner, which means it's time for thanks themed cards. I'm using the adorable Feast Mode set to make a slimline scene card. Stamping these critters on a kraft colored card stock adds to the Fall warm and cozy theme.

This is similar to the ghost trio card I created using the Fright Night set. (Spooky Fright Night blog post) For today's card design I ended up using a much warmer tone of kraft cardstock. Either would work perfectly, I've just cut down all of my Neenah Desert Storm card stock to an A2 size (4.25x5.5 in). Which doesn't work for the long Slimline card size (8.5x3.5 in).

I stamped all the critters onto a piece of kraft colored cardstock with Copic friendly ink. Using alcohol markers on card stock other then white is a nice change. Just pick bright or bold colors. The tone of the card stock does effect the transparent alcohol ink which ends up making a lot of the colors look more closely alike. I used a scratch piece of kraft card stock to determine which colors would work best.

A white Prismacolor Pencil really is the key to coloring on kraft card stock. I just love how it looks and the contrast it has. I made sure to use the white pencil through out all the images. Like the bunny tail, the fox face and mug, the hedgehog and squirrel's stomachs and small areas on the cute sweaters. To add more texture or highlights to my colored scene I also used the white pencil in areas for a light shading. For the more prominent highlighted lines I used a white gel pen.

Using the double end flag from the Flag Double Stich die  I die cut the shape onto my colored scnene and heat embossed the sentiment "Give Thanks" on to a bright blue card stock that is layered behind the colored scene. This is mounted to a Neenah Solar White slimline card base.
