But I was inspired by one of the inspiration photos on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #20 photos. Go here to see the photo and learn about the challenge Fun with Food.
I used a new set of watercolor pencils and my something new and the Lawn Fawn Donut Worry stamp set. I'm still playing with the pencils so perhaps a review post will becoming soon, when I've had a little more experience with them.
I used the watercolor pencils to color in the donuts and background. I will say that the colors of the pencils are kind of muted which I like. I have plenty of vibrant watercolor paints so these bring a different aspect to watercolor coloring.
I wanted it to look like a box of donuts. I used Nuvo Crystal Drops to glaze over each donut. This however did not have the effect that I wanted. If you look closely you will see that the crystal drops cracked! This product was never meant for covering large surface areas.... it was late.... my glossy accents was further away. (that would have been a better product)
So the next morning I woke up to cracked donuts, but I went with flow, cause why can't glazed sugar crack on pastries? Adding lots of sprinkles and micro beads for the shaky effect I then used a very old banner die from Spellbinders, I had help from a Copic marker for the gray border around the banner. The Sentiment is a mix up of some fun fonts from various stamp set brands and wah lah!

Not all stamps used are listed. I encourage you to use different font worded stamps that you already have. Unfortunately the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Large Ribbon Banner die is discontinued. You can still find it on Amazon for over $40... but there are plenty of dies you can use that are much cheaper.

What a fabulously YUMMY card! I, too, liked how you used muted colors on this which really makes these donuts look realistic. And how genius of you to add the look of real glaze with the Crystal Drops! This made me smile and made me want to reach for a donut! Thank you for sharing your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
