This stamp is from Waffle Flower and is called the "Enveloper Birthday". I first stamped the 2 images using a stamp platform because the images had so many solid parts. I wanted to get a solid impression.
I have a list of all the Copic colors that I used for the coloring down below. I knew I wanted a ombre background of blues and I had already decided that I was going to put a large red heart on the top middle portion even before I was finished stamping.
The heart took a couple of steps. First I die cut the larger heart from my stamped image panel. Then I took a scrap piece of Neenah cardstock that I was testing color combinations on and die cut, then colored the heart in red shades of Copics. Finally the 3rd heart and the smallest was die cut using vellum. I used my Xyron to adhere it to the red heart and then embossed the layered red and vellum hearts with clear embossing powder. I did 3 layers so it is very glossy, kind of like an epoxy embellishment.
I added the white gel pen highlights and colored in some of the solid black flowers to give more contrast. I also used a Gelly roll glaze pen in black and outlined most of the images and used it to darken the eyes and hair/ fur.
Have you used embossing powder to change up your die cuts like up above? I love my Signo White gel pen but are there any others that maybe you favor that I should know about? Let me know in the comments!
