Colored Pencils on Kraft | Thinking of You Card

Colored Pencils on Kraft is pure magic. Ok, that might me a over exaggeration but in all seriousness it is quite a powerful technique to use. The colors just look so vibrant and impressive on on Kraft color paper. It's a nice change from the regular cardstock that you might always use.

I first stamped the Lacy Flower image on to a Kraft cardstock using Versamark ink so that I could heat emboss it with white embossing powder. To color the now embossed image in I used several colors of Prismacolor Colored Pencils in greens and pinks to achieve the shading and highlight that I wanted. The white heat embossing powder acts as a barrier to help keep your coloring with in the lines. Though don't press to hard with the pencils or the color of the wax can transfer to the white of the embossing powder and it is not easy to erase. However I did have some luck using a white gel pen over a small area of the embossing powder that had turned pink.
