The holiday season is underway and I am determined to get this Christmas cards done and ready to be delivered by the 1st week of December. When you don't have a lot of time to put into a card at one time I suggest water coloring as the medium to use. I was able to sit down at my craft table and find the images I wanted to use. Then later I heat embossed them. I came back a while later when I had a little more time and water colored the images. I put down a base layer, let that dry then came back for another layer.
The Santa, reindeer and bird I was done with first. The circle image in the background I was trying to make look like logs for a fireplace so that took more layers and colors. It was fun though and I like the way it turned out. That was used with just a small section of the image that I colored. So I have more to use in a future project.
I fussy cut out the images and stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of paper. Used a die for the rectangle in the middle of the white card stock and adhered the water colored circle background to the back of it. I cut a piece of Papertrey Ink for the border layer.
I made this for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: All creatures great and small. You can join in on the fun here if you like.
