I first used the die and masking paper to cut out the rose image. Then layered that on to a piece of kraft cardstock. Using a white pigment ink and The Concord 9th Sketched Stripes background stamp I created the plaid background. Once the white pigment ink was dry (I blasted it with my heat gun) I peeled the mask off. I put it on the backing paper and stored it with the die set so that I can use it later if I wish. I find that you can reuse the masks a few times, depending on how inky it gets.
Then I stamped the solid rose image with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink and used Candied Apple for the layered detail. For the leaves I first stamped Twisted Citron and then layered with Lucky Clover.
I decided that I wanted to keep this pretty flat so I cut a piece of Simply Chartruese cardstock and layered behind the rose piece. Then simply adhered that to a Neenah Solar White cardbase.
To add on the sentiment I heat embossed it directly to the rose with white embossing powder and then squeezed out some drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops in morning dew.
I honestly can't wait to see what other technique this rose will inspire me to do.
